Joanne Hanrahan is Psychotherapist, Trauma Specialist, Trainer, Career Coach and Keynote Speaker. She is accredited by the IAHIP, registered with ICP and is a member of the IGC. Joanne has almost 25 years of experience in Psychotherapy and Counselling. Having dedicated her early career to the development and delivery of school counselling services, she now works as a Psychotherapist in private practice in Liscannor Co. Clare, Ireland.

 

Joanne’s therapeutic approach is trauma informed having completed considerable training in ‘Somatic Experiencing’ and ‘The Polyvagal Theory’. She completed her MSc research thesis on the role Nature can play in Psychotherapy. Joanne has presented her research findings, and clinical experience of taking therapy outside at a number of international conferences over the last 5 years. With a keen interest in nature’s regulating properties and ongoing research in ‘Green Care’ she now brings her knowledge of trauma and ‘Ecotherapy’ both to her practice and to the training of other Mental Health Professionals. Joanne regularly facilitates workshops and training in the Corporate, Educational and Mental Health sectors both in Ireland and the UK. Her recent training schedule included both in person experiential workshops as well as online training in Outdoor Psychotherapy.
