Career Guidance & Coaching

With over 20 years experience in guidance and counselling I understand the fear, anxiety and stress that we all feel when faced with making challenging life decisions regarding careers and education. Through my guidance counselling service I help both adolescents and their parents through the process of career choice.

How I Help

The service I offer can be tailored to individual needs ranging from a one-off session on a specific topic to a number of sessions covering all your guidance needs. Introductory 90 minute sessions are geared towards TY, 5th and 6th year students.  These normally consist of a 1 hour motivational interview; identifying interests, abilities, talents and skills, as well as an introduction to careers research.  This is then followed by a 30 minute review with the adolescent and their parent. Handouts and followup emails are included in the service.

Specific focus can be given to topics such as Subject Choice, Entry Requirements, Interest Inventory analysis, CAO Process & Applications, PLC/Further Education/Apprenticeships, Study Skills, Access Routes (HEAR, DARE),  as well as CV and Interview Preparation.

Adult Career Coaching

The combination of my Career Guidance and Psychotherapeutic skills prove very helpful to may adult clients looking to reevaluate their work life.
